FOUNDATION AND STRUCTURE

Structural technologies
integrated with the foundation

Martetic can coordinate the screw foundation and the supporting structure in LSF, HEA/IPE, Timber Frame or SIP systems. The foundation is selected separately, according to the ground, loads, tolerances and connection detail.

1. Screw foundations for structures

The Martetic range includes fixed-flange screws, the modular systems V76, V89 and V114, and custom configurations. The product is selected according to the structural design, ground, depth and installation conditions.

In this video, we invite you to discover in detail the manufacturing process of foundation screws.

2. LSF (Light Steel Frame)

LSF is a lightweight steel structure made of cold-formed, galvanised profiles, with repetitive joints and controlled tolerances. It is suitable for projects where speed, low weight and precise geometry matter.

2.1 Construction specifications

  • Cold-formed galvanised steel, usually 1.5 mm sheet for the load-bearing elements
  • C-type profiles for studs and beams, U profiles for tracks and enclosures
  • Usual stud spacing up to 625 mm, adjusted by design
  • Standardised joints, repeatable nodes
  • Possibility of integrating technological holes for services, when included in the package

2.2 When to choose LSF

Light homes and outbuildings, technical rooms, modular spaces

Short-deadline and repeatable projects

Sites where you want a clean site and dry installation

LSF structure, lightweight steel frames made of cold-formed profiles

3. HEA/IPE steel structures

HEA/IPE profile structures are used when you have heavy loads, spans, rigid columns or elements exposed to wind. They are suitable for platforms, heavy frames and industrial projects.

3.1 What it usually includes

  • Main and secondary beams, frames, columns
  • Plates, stiffeners, splice plates, bolted joints
  • Corrosion protection as per the design (frequently hot-dip galvanising)

3.2 When to choose HEA/IPE

Heavy platforms, technical structures, rigid frames

Sound-insulating fences/panels, screens, elements with high lateral loads

Situations where stiffness and controlled deformation are critical

HEA/IPE steel structures, steel profiles for heavy loads

4. Timber Frame (timber frames)

Timber frame is a timber structure with posts and beams, braced by design, with metal joints and node details that must be executed consistently.

4.1 Details that matter

  • Sized and repeatable nodes (plates, bolts, structural screws, nail/multinail plates, per design)
  • Timber protection in the base area and details for separation from moisture
  • Staged installation, with control of axes, diagonals and verticality

4.2 When to choose timber frame

Cabins, homes, tourism projects

Projects where you want dry installation and a “warm” look

Sites where the logistics favour prefabrication and fast installation

5. SIP (Structural Insulated Panels)

SIP is a panelised system with fast enclosure and good envelope performance. It is a system that demands discipline on tolerances and a very flat base.

5.1 Particularities

  • The flatness and rigidity of the base are critical for installation
  • Strict sequencing and sealing details, according to the panel system
  • Suitable when you want short enclosure times and good control of the geometry

5.2 When to choose SIP

Fast modules, energy-efficient projects

Buildings where the time to “closed and protected” is a priority

SIP panels, structural insulated panels for energy efficiency
